Plagiarsm Policy

EDUVORA: Journal of Educational Studies is committed to maintaining academic integrity, originality, and ethical standards in scholarly publishing. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original works and must properly acknowledge the ideas, data, and findings of other authors through appropriate citations and references.

1. Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism using plagiarism detection software before proceeding to the peer-review process. The journal applies a maximum similarity index of 20%, excluding references, properly cited quotations, and other exclusions deemed appropriate by the editorial team.

The similarity index serves as an initial screening indicator and does not automatically determine whether plagiarism has occurred. The editorial team will carefully evaluate the similarity report to identify potential cases of plagiarism, including text copying, inappropriate paraphrasing, self-plagiarism, and unattributed use of other authors' work.

2. Types of Plagiarism

The journal considers the following practices to be forms of plagiarism or publication misconduct:

  1. Direct Plagiarism: Copying text, sentences, paragraphs, or other content from another source without proper quotation or acknowledgment.

  2. Mosaic Plagiarism: Combining words, phrases, or ideas from multiple sources without appropriate attribution.

  3. Paraphrasing Plagiarism: Rewriting another author's ideas or arguments without providing proper citations.

  4. Self-Plagiarism: Reusing substantial portions of one's previously published work without appropriate acknowledgment or disclosure.

  5. Data and Idea Plagiarism: Using another researcher's data, findings, figures, tables, or ideas without proper acknowledgment.

3. Actions Against Plagiarism

The editorial team will determine appropriate actions based on the severity, extent, and nature of the identified similarity or plagiarism.

  • Minor Similarity: Authors may be asked to revise the manuscript, improve paraphrasing, provide missing citations, or correct references.

  • Substantial Similarity or Suspected Plagiarism: The manuscript may be returned for major revision or rejected, depending on the editorial assessment.

  • Confirmed Serious Plagiarism: The manuscript will be rejected. If the misconduct is discovered after publication, the journal may issue a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction, as appropriate. The journal may also notify the relevant institution or other parties when warranted.

4. Authors' Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their submissions, accurately citing all sources, obtaining permission to use copyrighted material when necessary, and disclosing any relevant overlap with their previously published work.

All authors must ensure that their manuscripts comply with the journal's publication ethics and academic integrity standards.

5. Editorial Authority

The Editor-in-Chief and editorial team of EDUVORA: Journal of Educational Studies reserve the right to assess similarity reports, request clarification or revisions, reject manuscripts, and take appropriate action in cases of suspected or confirmed plagiarism.

This policy applies to all manuscripts submitted to the journal and is intended to uphold the quality, credibility, and integrity of academic publications.
